Spiritual Growth: How To Develop and Improve It – Other

1Life1509.jpgWe have heard of clich?s saying that lots of people can be religious but few can be spiritual in its truest sense. Yes, that is true. Our affiliation with a church organization or our adherence to church beliefs does not make us spiritual. Spirituality is more than that. It is religion felt and experienced within us as we discover and accept complex, sometimes paradoxical, truths of the human being.

Along our journey in life, we may have gone astray because of the numerous frustrations and unwanted events that we have not dealt with accordingly. However, life must go on and we should reconcile with ourselves to attain spiritual growth. So, how then can you develop your spiritual life?

Learning to say thank you and I’m sorry As our societies progress, sometimes, values change from being personal to impersonal, from simple to complex. We are not pleased anymore with little things nature can offer. When we learn to appreciate our blessings, we start to feel contentment and a deep happiness.

Meanwhile, we tend to be very impersonal. When we want something, we are so determined to get it till the end not thinking of its effects to others. Success should not block you to your friends and family members. Asking forgiveness from them will free you from grudges and negative solutions thus making you achieve spiritual growth.

Seeking guidance from good and trusted people Relying on our own understanding may be successful to a few, but most often, we need the guidance from other wiser people who could be a spiritual leader, a priest or a professional spiritual guide. Opening your self to them will make you feel better notwithstanding the enlightenment you will feel after hearing their words.

Meditation With our industrialized, noisy world, we rarely find the time to meditate and free our minds from any thought. When we meditate, we are going back to the most essential things including our relationship with our God. This Higher Being may be different from what the church dictated and it does not matter as long as you are communicating with him with all sincerity. Feeling secured and calm after meditation is a step towards spiritual growth.

Thinking of a purpose in life Life with a purpose is life worth living. Our friends and loved ones complete us and would serve as an inspiration to do well and achieve success. Helping the needy is little ways is also a way to help you see the world in a different angle. When you help the poor, you will see that others also share the same or even worse sentiments than yours.

Know yourself well. Despite the many changes we are experiencing, we should try to achieve balance and happiness in life. Be thankful, ask for forgiveness, take time to reflect on your life. When done regularly, these things will surely make you attain spiritual growth and bliss.
